Daniella Morales-Garibay is incredibly grateful to be serving as a Policy and Legislation Fellow at LULAC this summer. She is originally from South Bend, Indiana, and attends the University of Notre Dame, where she is majoring in Economics with minors in Latino Studies and the Hesburgh Program in Public Service. On campus, she is involved in policy research through the Student Policy Network, participates in Women in Economics and the Latino Student Ministry Leadership Team, and currently serves as president of Notre Dame’s Ballet Folklorico group, where she shares Mexican culture with the greater Notre Dame community. Outside of campus, she tutors math and English at La Casa de Amistad, a nonprofit that works to empower the local Latino, Hispanic, and immigrant community. She is interested in public service and policy research and implementation, and is passionate about expanding access to political education and resource opportunities to all communities. She hopes to attend law school in the future and pursue a career as an immigration lawyer. She is excited to work with LULAC to further her understanding of how policy is shaped and enacted to contribute to efforts that address the challenges faced by the Latino community.
