Resolution Solidarity of LULAC with United Farm Workers of America

Whereas, the United Farm Workers of America was cofounded in 1962, in Fresno, California by Cesar Chavez and Delores Huerta; and

Whereas the historic struggle of the United Farm Workers of America has been recognized in California, throughout the nation, and internationally; and

Whereas the UFW celebrated its 50th Anniversary in Bakersfield, California in May 2012, and internationally; and

Whereas LULAC has supported the United Farm Workers over the last 50 years in of struggle, to organize farm workers and secure contracts with Agri-business;

Therefore, be it resolved that LULAC extends to the United Farm Workers, solidarity in celebrating past 50 years in of struggle, and extends its support to end the exploitation of farm workers in California and throughout the nation
