Resolution on Eduardo Mora and Ray Velarde Jr.

WHEREAS, 84 years ago, the founders of the League of Latin American Citizens, (LULAC) joined together to establish an organization that would become the largest, oldest and successful Hispanic civil rights and service organization in the United States, and

WHEREAS, Ray Velarde, Jr, a teacher and educator in Chaparral, NM has served above and beyond the call of duty and dedicating his life mentoring and fostering young Latino students to successfully excelling in their educational goals and objectives, and

WHEREAS, Eduardo Mora, a senior and graduate of Chaparral High School was one of few that received the Gates Millennium Scholarship which will provide him over 1,000,000 dollar for completing his educational goals, and

WHEREAS, Eduardo Mora has been bestowed this honor representing New Mexico and has demonstrated academic achievement and excellence, and

BE IT RESOLVED, that New Mexico LULAC recognizes Eduardo Mora and Ray Velarde, Jr. for their work, and NM LULAC submit this news worthy accomplishment to all the New Mexico media entities across the state.
