Gina Brillon, a Puerto Rican comedian, actress, writer, and mom, was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She began her stand-up comedy career at just 17 years old. Her second one-hour special, Gina Brillon: The Floor is Lava (Amazon Prime Video), earned her a 2021 Gracie Award and an Imagen Award nomination. Her half-hour special Easily Offended became a standout show in the Entre Nos franchise on HBO Latino and is available for streaming on all HBO Digital Platforms.
Gina has made notable appearances on The View, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. She has also appeared in Kevin Can Wait on CBS and The Conners on ABC. In 2012, she made history as the first (and only) Latina to win NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity Showcase. The following year, she was named a "New Face" at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival.
In addition to her comedy, Gina is a singer, poet, and published writer, with work featured in outlets like the New York Post and Daily News. She made history once again as the first Latina comedian to reach the finals of season 16 of America’s Got Talent. Most recently, she co-hosts and executive produces The State of: WOMEN, a podcast from Clamor Audio that delves into gender equity across the U.S., discussing which states are leading the charge and which are falling short—and how we can all make a difference.

28TH LULAC National Awards Gala
The LULAC National Legislative Awards Gala highlights critical legislative issues affecting Hispanic Americans and recognizes key leaders who have served the Hispanic community well. At this year's gala, LULAC will present its policy issues to our council members and will present awards to three distinguished elected officials at our twenty-sixth gala. We will celebrate the 96th anniversary of LULAC, which was formed on February 17, 1929.
