Postponement of LULAC Women’s Conference - New York, NY
Dear Invited Attendee,
After careful consideration of the recent events related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and out of an abundance of caution for everyone planning to join us, the LULAC Women’s Conference scheduled for the Roosevelt Hotel, April 24-25, 2020 is being postponed until a future date to be determined once national health authorities deem conditions to be safe.
Mr. Domingo Garcia, LULAC National President, Mrs. Ralina Cardona, National Vice-President for the Northeast, Ms. Elsie Valdes, National Vice-President for Women, Ms. Sylvia Mata, Commissioner for Women, New York State, and Ms. Sindy Benavides, LULAC National CEO have been working together in assessing the situation and reached a consensus decision that a postponement until late summer, perhaps August, is advisable and necessary.
We’re honored for the strong participation of such a diverse and supportive group of women leaders, corporate professionals and others who look forward to convening. We are sensitive to everyone’s concerns, and we want those who attend our event to feel welcomed and safe. We greatly regret any inconvenience this postponement may be causing you and trust you understand we are doing so for the safety and well-being of all concerned. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people affected by the Coronavirus. Please continue to monitor LULAC actions on this health threat at: www.LULAC.org/coronavirus
Sincerely,
Elsie Valdes
LULAC National Vice-President for Women
