Regla Gonzalez

Regla Gonzalez a native of Habana Cuba, is and outstanding member of this community for the past 45 years to be recognizes as one of the most influential people in our State. She owns and operates Fine Planning Events / Spanish Interpreting Services for the past 20 years, she also dedicated part of her life to take care of her ill mother at home until the day of her passing 10 years ago.

Regla has distinguished herself with great respect, maintaining the tradition of our community defending civil rights, human rights and dedicating herself to service the Hispanic community creating positive changes through personal integrity and ethical leadership while maintaining herself grounded in the present social, economic and political environment.

She has developed an extraordinary record of accomplishments and always represents us proudly of her origin maintaining our glorious past. She is always very optimist and sociable, judicious and cautious and above all very honorable and high minded always representing all of us that are proud of her accomplishments with and up most excellence contributing with her talents and skills giving her time to the betterment of our beloved community and she has been a women all through these years ‘’ con la falda bien puesta” a role model to our community.

Regla Gonzalez was recently appointed to the Governor’s Latino Advisory Commission, also during the last 2015 through the present was appointed during the LULAC National Convention to be special Assistance to LULAC National President Roger Rocha, and President Garcia, she has been a LULAC Council #12113 President, State Director, Deputy State Director in Massachusetts, National VP for the Northeast, National VP for Women, and Youth Advisor for the past 2822 years, and Scholarship Chair, also been a member at the LNESC National Board. And National Women’s Commission.

She was appointed 15 years ago and swear in to be a distinguish and loyal member of the USA Selective Service System. She has been involved with our community for the past 48 years, she has changed the lives of those that she has touched and acted with justice love and the deepest of pride in her culture. Her commitment to the youth has made her a youth advisor for the past 25 years. Raising over $200,000 in scholarship for Latino youth entering College.

Regla Gonzalez has been recognized FIVE times as 100 most influential people in Massachusetts, by El Planeta Powerneter, she has been profile twice in the Boston Globe Living Arts Section ( October 2007 and May 1999) and El Mundo Newspaper, El Planeta, she been recognized by Governors, Mayors, City Councils, US Senators, Congressman nonprofits ,for profit, and mention as a great leader in our community. In 1996 she organized the National LULAC Convention and the Mayor’s Reception. Won the award of” National Council of the Year/Women of the Year, Women’sWomen Hall of Fame and the LULAC Presidential Award, among several others. Through the years she has been a member of the UIF Board, AAUW, Oficina Hispana Inc., founder. Bandera Cubana Inc., founder of LULAC Council 12113 Scholarships Program, offering more than $200,000 in scholarships to Latino students entering College, Massachusetts Heart Assoc, The Latino American Advisory Commission under Governors Weld and Celluci , Sacred Heart Church Parish Council Board, Boston Initiative for teen Pregnancy Prevention, Banking and Mortgage Committee, Office of Refugees and Immigration, among others.

She marched in several local and national civil rights protests as well as participated in panels promoting political participation, Human Rights, comprehensive Immigration bills through citizenship, and voter registration naturalization among the Latinos and all of this on VOLUNTEER capacity.

Throughout her life Regla has sustained a clear vision for the future of our communities, her actions has been consistently reflecting her vision, she is a collaborative leader who motivates others and get her task complete and accomplished, she emulates values and last but not least she acts with justice, and love
