Collegiate LULAC Council #8096 has been actively recruiting new members

Collegiate LULAC Council #8096 has been actively recruiting new members to join these past two weeks at UNM. We tabled at Friday Night Live last Friday, August 17th and tabled today Thursday, August 23rd for Student Organization Day by the Duck Pond. Please send your interested LULACers our way. Our first meeting of the semester will be next Wednesday, August 29th at 6:30pm in the Student Union Building (SUB), room TBD. Please have prospective members email me at olpadilla4@gmail.com. I have included two photos of our recruitment events: President Olivia Padilla tabling for Student Organization Day at the Duck Pond; (left to right) Gabriela Sandoval, President Olivia Padilla, Ailyn Arroyos, and Marcela Mendoza.

Our Council #8096 was fortunate to have three of its members inducted into the National LULAC Women's Hall of Fame during National Convention in Phoenix. Dr. Jennifer Gomez-Chávez, Jessica Martínez, and Valerie Arellanes were honored for their strong influence and efforts made to further the Hispanic community of New Mexico. We are proud to work alongside such determined and inspiring women. I have included photos from National Convention with (left to right) Valerie Arellanes, Dr. Jennifer Gomez-Chàvez, Dr. Lawrence Roybal, and Jessica Martínez; (left to right) Dr. Jennifer Gomez-Chávez, Brenda Macías, Marcela Mendoza, Valerie Arellanes, and Jessica Martínez.
