LULAC Environment

Through on-going partnerships with ecoAmerica, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), The Energy Foundation, and other community organizations, LULAC has been a key ally in advocating for environmental sustainability and clean energy at the local, state, and national level. LULAC believes that addressing environmental issues and holding stakeholders accountable will improve the quality of life for Latinos living the US.


LULAC Environmental Programs


Enviromental Health:

LULAC and Environmental Defense Fund's (EDF) Health Program have teamed up to launch an initiative to highlight toxic chemical exposure that may disproportionately affect the Latino community.

Climate Ambassador Training:

Latinos are growing more concerned about climate change. As they experience impacts to their health, livelihoods, and communities, they are increasingly looking for guidance on solutions from leaders in their daily lives — community leaders like you. Become a LULAC Climate Ambassador íahora!

Viviendo Verde:

LULAC has partnered with Viviendo Verde to teach Latino communities how to deconstruct misinformation and advocate for their right to live in environmentally healthy neighborhoods.

CATF Report on Methane:

Learn about severe health risks faced by Latino communities in the United States due to air pollution from the oil and gas industry, including elevated cancer risk, asthma-related issues, and disproportionate exposure, emphasizing the need for stronger regulations and pollution reduction measures.
